CASTING SCOTLAND MARKETPLACE
Terms for
crew members.
Effective 8 September 2026 · Casting Scotland Ltd, 21 Groveburn Ave, Thornliebank, Glasgow G46 7DA · castings@castingscotland.co.uk
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply to crew accounts and profiles on Casting Scotland Marketplace. The Marketplace helps independent productions and creative crew discover one another. It does not guarantee work, act as your employer or agent, or make either party an employee or contractor of Casting Scotland.
2. Your account and profile
You must be at least 16, provide accurate information, select the specialism that best reflects your primary work and keep your account secure. Do not misrepresent your identity, experience, credits, qualifications, licences or professional memberships.
You keep ownership of your profile content and give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Marketplace. You can update or remove it through your account.
3. Opportunities and engagements
A listing, introduction or expression of interest is not a booking or employment contract. You and the production are responsible for agreeing duties, dates, location, payment, expenses, working hours, insurance, equipment, intellectual property, cancellation terms and employment or tax status before work starts.
4. Safety and conduct
Use good judgement, independently verify productions and locations, and do not send money or unnecessary sensitive information. You must not harass, discriminate against, exploit, impersonate, scam or knowingly mislead another Marketplace user. Report unsafe or suspicious activity through the Marketplace and, where appropriate, to the relevant authority.
5. Specialist and regulated work
Only offer work you are competent and legally permitted to carry out. Where a role involves regulated, safety-critical or safeguarding responsibilities, you and the production remain responsible for checking qualifications, insurance, disclosures, licences, risk assessments and other legal requirements. Casting Scotland does not certify these matters merely because they appear on a profile.
6. Privacy, suspension and closure
Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal data. We may remove content, limit access, suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms, our safety rules or the law have been breached, or where necessary to protect users or the service.
7. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we provide the Marketplace with reasonable care and skill but are not responsible for agreements, conduct, services, payments, losses or disputes between crew and productions except where caused by our own failure to meet that standard.
8. Changes, contact and law
We may update these terms for legal, safety, service or operational reasons and will give reasonable notice of material changes. Questions or complaints: castings@castingscotland.co.uk.
These terms are governed by Scots law, subject to any mandatory rights that apply where you live.
